The pre-conference workshop took place at the Mobilized Women Community Center in Berkeley, California in January 1968, and
the three-day conference was scheduled for March 1968 at Asilomar, California. The workshops were sponsored by the Berkeley
Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority; the National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women's Clubs, Inc.,
East Bay Area; and the Contra Costa and East Bay Sections of the National Council of Negro Women. The events were designed
to encourage dialogue in the hopes of bridging socio-economic and generation gaps in the community.
